Satellite Navigation Analysis:

A relatively new addition to the world of digital forensics is the ability to examine common types of Satellite Navigation system.

A wealth of revealing information can be obtained from these somewhat innocuous devices, information that we can usually retrieve in a court admissible format includes;

• Recently planned / travelled journeys

• Favourite places stored

• Deleted journeys planned / travelled

• Home location stored

• Traffic updates

• Telephone calls (If supported by the device)

At present this technology is limited to primarily TomTom and Garmin devices, however - support for more manufacturers is being constantly added.
